Postcards of Karghin Students are Posted from the Sholokhovs’ House

On December days, an exhibition “Happy New Year!” with museum classes for students started its run in the Memorial House at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov. During the year there were organized visiting classes; one of them was held on December 14, 2018, in the Bokovsky District, at the Karghin secondary school named after M.A.Sholokhov.

The children learned how New Year parties for children were held in the Sholokhovs’ house, how the family prepared for New Year holidays. Then they saw New Year greeting cards sent to the writer and his family in different years.

The girls and boys enthusiastically listened to the history of the New Year postcard in Russia. At the end of the class they wrote New Year greeting postcards (copies of those sent to the writer) to be sent to their families and friends. There were over 40 written postcards which were taken to Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and posted from the House-Museum of M.A.Sholokhov to different addresses.
