Action “I am a Volunteer” will Take Place in Sholokhov-Centre

26.11.2018

On December 5, 2018, International Volunteer Day, Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will hold an action “I am a Volunteer”– All-Russian Premier of the Documentary “#Яволонтёр.Истории неравнодушных” (#Iamavolunteer. The Stories of Those not Indifferent”).

The film tells about the volunteer movement in Russia, about the unselfish caring people and their inspiring deeds. The film is based on 15 stories told by volunteers and made all over the country. They will clearly and convincingly tell about the volunteer activity: from search for missing children to environmental projects, from fire and flood management to help for children and old people, from intellectual and corporate volunteering to victory volunteers and silver volunteers. Through the experience of real volunteers the film helps to understand how the volunteering activity makes better not only the surrounding world, but us as well.

The authors of the project expect the social cinema to be able to change the attitude to volunteering, to contribute to growth of the regional volunteer organizations and influence the infrastructure development of the volunteering movement support in Russia.

The action will be joined by the volunteers of the South Federal University and the Rostov College of Culture. The film show will be followed by discussion of the film “#Iamavolunteer. The Stories of Those not Indifferent”, where the viewers can express their opinions and tell their stories.

The film show starts at 19.00. Free admission.
