NewsWelcome to “Night of Arts” in Sholokhov Museum-Reserve!31.10.2018On November 4, National Unity Day, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will hold an action “Night of Arts” under the motto “Art Unites”. We are waiting for you in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and in “Sholokhov-Centre” in Rostov-on-Don. On this day the tours about the museum exhibitions will run under “Night of Arts”, and the guests are offered an interesting and intensive program. The visitors to the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov will learn about the history of the unique museum object – Schröder grand piano. The musical instrument, which is placed in the sitting-room of the memorial house of the writer, was made over 100 years ago and was bought in Moscow, in 1936. M.A.Sholokhov chose it in one of the shops of Moscow with the help of composer I.I.Dzerzhinsky, the author of the opera “The Quiet Don”. The museum guides will tell you how the unique instrument survived the war years, what tunes were played by Mikhail Alexandrovich, which of the famous singers performed an aria from the opera. The tour about the historical literary exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov. Time and Life” will be added with a video talk “Legend of the Old Violin”. The visitors will see a homemade musical instrument, which is shown in one of the exhibition halls, will learn how the violin, an unusual for the Upper Don country instrument, appeared in Kruzhilin Village, the homeland of M.A.Sholokhov, will hear a story about the “Don song expedition” of A.M.Listopadov, which was made 115 years ago. The excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” will offer excursions about the exhibitions “Poetry of Nature: the Don Landscapes”, where one can see paintings of the well-known artists B.Shcherbakov, I.Khashkhayan, R,Maksyutov, V.Kulchenko, A.Timofeyev, and “In the Country of Porcelain and Faience” whish shows unique tableware of the Russian famous Kuznetsov factories. At the literary musical social dedicated to the National Unity Day, folk groups of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and Sholokhov District will show their performance. The lovers of Cossack dance will be able to join master-classes to learn how to dance Cossack polka, narechenku and padespan. The social will end with showing the film “When Cossacks Cry” based on the short story by M.A.Sholokhov “About Kolchak, Nettle and Others”. This is the only one film-director’s work of Yevgeny Morgunov loved by everyone. The premier of the film took place 55 years ago in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. In Rostov-on-Don, during the action “Night of Arts”, Sholokhov-Centre will prolong the run of the unique exhibition “Russian Cavalry in the Era of the Napoleonic Wars” from the collection of the Borodino Museum-Reserve. Free tours will run each half an hour. |
