“Forest Decathlon-2018” in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya

Within the Autumn Environmental Week the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov jointly with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Rostov Region, and the workers of the “South-European Research Forestry Station” waged a theoretic contest “Forest Decathlon” joined by 15 teams of senior school students from the Rostov and Voronezh regions.

The young guests and their teachers were greeted by the authorities of the Sholokhov and Verkhnedonskoy district departments of the Rostov Region Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment P.I.Nikulin and P.I.Makushkin.

Then the contestants were given 10 tests for assessing their knowledge of natural sciences: soil science, botany, forest zoology, environment protection, and others. The contestants successfully passed the test, then they took part in planting over 150 seedlings of tree species in the area of the literary environmental forest park.

According to the results of the contest “Forest Decathlon” the winners were awarded diplomas and books – “Forestry Encyclopedia”

All the members of the 15 teams of the “Forest Decathlon” were given contestant certificates.
