Results of the Project “Language is a Spiritual Code of the Nation”

15.10.2018

A round-table talk took place on October 12, 2018, in the Don State Public Library of Rostov-on-Don, to sum up the project “Language is a Spiritual Code of the Nation” (Spiritual Prospects of Russia at the Turn of the Century)”. It was joined by O.A.Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

Within the project “Language is a Spiritual Code of the Nation (Spiritual Prospects of Russia at the Turn of the Century)” there were two contests for schoolchildren to stimulate their interest for the personalities of the Don writers and for the artistic understanding of folklore – proverbs and sayings. 1117 works were submitted to the contests and over 3000 people (contestants, parents, teachers, and others) took part in the project implementation.

Sholokhov-Centre was one of the project implementation areas. During the days of the World Football Cup there were shown the works of young artists for the guests to see the talent and spiritual development of the younger generation of Russia.

O.A.Anistratenko thanked the project organizers for the opportunity to work in the team of like-minded people and contribute to the implementation of the most important tasks of attracting the younger generation to the study of the Don country linguistic heritage. “It is very important that the project organizers were able to unite the linguists, museum workers, teachers, librarians and journalists. Because when it becomes common, it will surely bring success”, – she noted.

At the meeting, the active project members were awarded the cups and thanksgiving letters. The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was among the winners.
