“Bridge of Wishes” has Connected the Chir Banks in Stanitsa Karghinskaya

One of the bright events of “Karghin Fair on Intercession Days” which took place on October 7, 2018, was the opening ceremony of the bridge across the River Chir. During the holiday, the bridge called “Bridge of Wishes” attracted hundreds of people – young and adults – many of them crossed it several times.

The new bridge connected the banks of the River Chir and has become a symbol of fulfillment of the most cherished desires, which the holiday makers when crossing the bridge put down on the Russian Flag coloured balloons. Writers and actors from different regions of Russia, students, residents of the Sholokhov, Bokovsky, Verkhnedonskoy, Kashary and other districts of the Rostov Region shared their wishes and desires with joy and hope. The balloons were bearing inscriptions about happiness, health of the family, success of children, about the peaceful sky over the beloved homeland…

Also the bridge was visited by the newly-weds of Karghin: they were the first to fix their “lock of happiness” and to throw the key into the river in order never to part.

The members of the new bridge opening ceremony were greeted by O.A.Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, and Y.A.Pyatikov, Head of the Bokovsky District Administration. Olga Alexandrovna thanked the Bokovky District Administration for constructing the bridge which opened new prospects for developing Stanitsa Karghinskaya and the Museum complex, and underlined: “We sacredly keep the traditions established by our Cossack ancestors. All bridges lead to fulfillment of desires, so our beautiful bridge will make our wishes come true by all means!

In the midst of the holiday colourful balloons flew into the cloudless sky giving joy, faith and hope to all the holiday makers of “Karghin Fair on Intercession Days”.
