Cossacks are Musical People
04.10.2018A cycle of new interactive classes “Cossacks are Musical People” will start on October 10, 2018, in the People’s House of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.
The Don people were fond of holiday making, singing and dancing both at home family celebrations, holidays, and during the military campaigns in the hours of short rest. Singing and dancing were accompanied with music and instrumental playing.
The class members will learn about the Don Cossack musical traditions in the late XIX – early XX centuries, will see wind, noise and percussion musical instruments, will learn and play in the improvised Cossack ensemble.
