Let’s Create New Traditions Together!

On October 7, 2018, the literary ethnographic holiday “Karghin Fair on Intercession Days” will include an opening ceremony of a new bridge across the River Chir.

In 2018, our country opened a lot of bridges: a bridge across the River Bogogo in the Krasnodar Territory, a bridge across the River Osetr in the Moscow Region, “Betancourt Bridge” across the River Malaya Neva in Saint-Petersburg, “Bibulat Bridge” across the River Martanka in Urus-Martan (Chechnya) and, of course, the world famous Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait.

We also decided to follow the tradition: a beautiful bridge was built by the Administration of the Bokovsky District the Rostov Region. It connects the mill complex of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov and the orchard named after M.A.Sholokhov on the opposite bank.

On October 7, during the holiday “Karghin Fair on Intercession Days” the residents and guests will be able to walk along the bridge for the first time. The first married couple will hang a lock on the bridge thus “fastening their ties for many years” and starting this world-known tradition in a new place.

The folks have long dreamed of connecting the two banks of the River Chir. And now, when the dream has come true, we hope all our wishes made on this bridge will be realized. And just for this, for the tradition to exist, we invite the residents and guests to make their first wishes and write them down on the balloons and let them fly in the holiday sky.
