Sholokhov Museum at the Festival “Rus of Songs, Rus of Masters
31.07.2018The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the All-Russian festival of folklore, arts and crafts “Rus of Songs”, Rus of Masters”, which took place on July 27–28, 2018, on the territory of the Lomovsky natural landscape park in the Vorobyovsky District the Voronezh Region.
The Festival traditionally gathers masters and artists of folk arts from all over Russia. Sholokhov Museum presented the Don workshops to the festival visitors. A potter D.Vostrikov traditionally attracted a crowd of holiday guests watching attentively the process of creating real, beautiful clayware from a plain piece of clay. A.Kozlov impressed the guests by his mastery of making a wattle fence of willow twigs.
The festival guests wearing Museum traditional Cossack costumes actively photographed with the mannequins of a Cossack man and woman against the wattle fence and chose unusual souvenirs: Cossack whips, painted tableware from Semikarakory, Rostov enamel, books of Sholokhov’s works and DVD films based on his works.
The two festival days showed the people’s interest in the traditional Cossack culture and in the knowledge of the writing heritage of their great countryman M.A.Sholokhov.
