Reconstruction of the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya is Going on

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov continues reconstruction works at the site of the federal cultural heritage “Estate, Where M.A.Sholokhov Lived and Worked during 1949–1984”.

The complex reconstruction of the cultural heritage structures making up one ensemble takes a long time. Thus, in 2017, the “Wing” (1950s) and “Garage” (1950s) were reconstructed at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov. The network overhaul on the territory of the ensemble is going to be carried out this year for the best preparation for the main works on the reconstruction of the Memorial House.

Early in June 2018, a positive conclusion by the Federal Autonomous Institution “General Department of the State Expertise of Russia” was received for carrying out the works. At present, the documents are being prepared for the auction to determine the contractor. All the preliminary works finished, the most difficult and long-awaited stage – reconstruction of the House – will be started.

The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov is to open after the reconstruction in 2020, on the 115th anniversary of the writer.
