Fans Send Their Regards “From Rostov with Love” to Distant Countries

13.07.2018

During the days of the World Cup Games in Rostov-on-Don, the visitors of Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov had a unique opportunity to send postcards to their families and friends anywhere in the world. For this purpose a postbox was specially installed in the “Cossack Village”.

The tourists were enthusiastic to write postcards preferring to use not a ball-pen, but a metal pen, which they carefully dipped in the inkwell, then they stuck stamps and dropped their messages into the postbox. The postcards were sent to different cities of our country and to Croatia, China, the USA, Uruguay, Mexico, Iceland and Scotland.

There are some of them: “Best regards to my beloved granny from the Cossack country!” (To Kirovsk the Leningrad Region); “My regards from Rostov World Cup, from the House-Museum of M.A.Sholokhov!” (To Sebastopol); “My best regards from Rostov-on-Don! Kissing all my family…” (To Montevideo, Uruguay); “I am thinking of you, love you!” (To New-Mexico, the USA); “From Rostov with love!” (To California, the USA); I’m sending my kiss from Rostov-on-Don!” (To Mexico City, Mexico).

Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov, when travelling abroad, was known to send postcards with pictures of the sites he visited to their family. And he received daily about 100, and some days about 300 letters from all over the world.
