Book Graphics on the Works by M.A.Sholokhov
20.06.2018On June 26, 2018, the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya will open an exhibition “Book Graphics on the Works by M.A.Sholokhov” showing the woks by the famous artists-illustrators from the collection of the Museum-Reserve.
The visitors will see the illustrations by Orest Vereisky, Yury Rebrov, Victor Galdyayev, Vladimir Baklanov, Valentina and Leonid Petrov, Kukryniksy. All the works are marked with a variety of creative search and solutions. Each of the illustrators is unique in the style of drawing, and the talented depiction of the episodes from “And Quiet Flows the Don”, “Virgin Soil Upturned”, “Tales from the Don”, “The Fate of a Man” and “They Fought for Their Country” takes the viewers into the bright, passionate world of heroes of M.A.Sholokhov and enables of new interpretation of his works.
The authentic household items, Cossack clothes also shown at the exhibition will be a kind of illustrations to the works of the writer.
An undoubted interest will be aroused by the portrait of M.A.Sholokhov made by artist V.F.Dorozhinsky in the original manner: the work is made in hand writing and includes over eight chapters of the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned”.
The exhibition is supplemented with the books by M.A.Sholokhov for deeper understanding the work by the famous writer, the world of Sholokhov’s heroes and the beauty of the Don country.
The exhibition will run from June 26, to September 30, 2018.
