Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Joined the Festival of the Don Museums

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the III Festival of the Don Museums, which was held on June 2, in the Rostov Region Museum of Fine Arts and gathered over thirty museums.

The members of the festival were greeted by V.N.Babin, the Rostov Region Minister of Culture, and S.V.Kruse, Director of the Rostov Region Museum of Fine Arts. They wished the museums fruitful work and numerous visitors.

The guests of the festival learned more about the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, its concept of development of the “Open Air Novel”, about the prospects of the exhibition and tourist work and saw the copies of publishing products.

This festival was themed “Museum and Society” with the program including presentations of the projects aimed at the formation of the museum's image as a place for family cultural and educational leisure and attracting visitors. Having visited the exhibition stands and presentations of the participating museums the festival guests learned many interesting things about the historical and cultural values of the Don region, took part in the workshops and saw the performance of the amateur groups.

The festival of the Don museums is not only an opportunity for the museums to show their achievements, but also a site for experience exchange. The business part of the festival included a round-table, where the museum workers discussed the problems of acquisition in the museum collections.
