Vyoshenskaya will See “Brilliant World of Alexander Grin”

21.03.2018

On April 6, 2018, the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” will open an exhibition “Brilliant World of Alexander Grin” from the collection of the Historical and Cultural Memorial Museum-Reserve “Kimmeriya of M.A.Voloshin”.

For the first time outside the Crimea the exhibition shows the pearls of the museum collections from the House Museum of A.S.Grin in the Old Crimea, the Literary Artistic Museum and House Museum of K.G.Paustovsky. The visitors will see 116 rare unique museum items telling about the life and work of Alexander Grin and about the place of the Crimea in the literary life of the romantic writer. Among the memorial subjects belonging to him and his family there is an armchair from the interior of the memorial room of A.S.Grin, a box for letters, a candlestick, a metal bell and many other original things which over a half of a century were kept in the house, where the writer lived.

The visitors will be attracted by the autographs of the writer of “Scarlet Sails” and “Brilliant World” and his wife, N.N.Grin, rare intravital editions and publications of the master of lyrical prose.

The exhibition displays paintings, sculptures and drawings of the contemporary artists inspired by the works of the outstanding romantic: Tatyana Gagarina (St-Petersburg), Viktor Kashin (Kirov), Vladimir Adeyev (Sebastopol), Stepan Malyshev (Feodosiya), Andrey Cherkasov (Germany), Vladimir Derkachenko (the USA), photo artists – Leonid Matveyev (Sebastopol), Anatoly Migov (St-Petersburg – Old Crimea). Many artists following the wonder of Grin’s lines made the Crimea a place of creative pilgrimage, a place of a search for meaning, an attractive spiritual space revealing secrets and beauty of the brilliant world of Grin’s prose.

The exhibition will run until June 13, 2018.
