NewsExhibition “The Don.Sholokhov.Russia” will Open in Ryazan27.02.2018The exhibition “Don.Sholokhov.Russia” from the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov will begin its run on March 16, 2018, in the Ryazan Historical Architectural Museum-Reserve. It will display about 300 exhibits telling about the life and work of the great Russian writer and about the history of the Don Cossacks, the main hero of his works. The Cossacks, dear to the heart of M.A.Sholokhov, make a multilateral show at the exhibition – in everyday life, family, in the development of the historical events. The visitors will see a military uniform, battle awards – the evidence of the military glory of Cossacks, who joined the military service for feats of arms “for faith, the tsar and the Fatherland”, will learn what the Cossack needed for the military service. The exhibition shows everyday clothes of Cossack men and women, objects of everyday life and instruments of labor. The life and work of M.A.Sholokhov inseparably connected with the life of the country and the people are told about by the documents, photos and memoria. Among the unique exhibits there are books from the writer’s library, works in foreign languages, international awards including the Nobel Diploma, a proof of the worldwide recognition of the talent of M.A.Sholokhov and his contribution into the world spiritual culture. The bright images created by the artist of the word inspired the artists, painters, sculptors and masters of applied arts who created artistic works based on Sholokhov’s books. The exhibition will show the illustrations by O.Vereisky and Y.Rebrov highly praised by the writer himself. The work of M.A.Sholokhov has had a big impact on the development of the Russian cinematograph, theatre and music. One of the sections of the exhibition tells about the latest filming of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” made by the film director S.Ursulyak in 2015. The visitors will see costumes of the main personages of the film presented to the Museum-Reserve by the filming crew. In all, 19 feature films were made on the woks by M.A.Sholokhov.
