NewsF.Ranevskaya: “I Had the Wit of Living My Life through So Silly”19.02.2018An opening ceremony of the exhibition “I Had the Wit of Living My Life through So Silly” about the life and work of the great Russian actress Faina Ranevskaya took place on February 16, 2018, in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The exhibition is presented by the Theatre Museum named after A.A.Bakhrushin (Moscow). The first visitors were shown a documentary telling about the work of the actress and interesting facts from her biography. The guests were welcomed by Olga Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, who underlined the great importance of the creative cooperation of the museums providing an opportunity to show the unique collections to the wide public. One of the authors of the exhibition, Kseniya Lapina, the main curator of the A.A.Bakhrushin Theatre Museum funds, made the first excursion about the exhibition. She told about the life of the bright, impressive actress Faina Georgiyevna Ranevskaya, a favourite of millions of viewers. The visitors saw numerous posters showing the creative work of the actress, her photos of different roles in the theatre and cinema, fragments of the films causing smiles and good memories. The actress was sure she hadn’t been invited to act the best role in the theatre and cinema, but her recognizable appearance, witty and imaginative language made her even episodic roles be starring and memorable. The main part of the exhibition shows portraits of the outstanding figures of culture of Russia, whom Faina Georgiyevna considered her teachers, pictures of her friends, acquaintances and colleagues, who together with her created the unique era in the national culture. Each portrait is supplemented with a comment-citation by Ranevskaya or by the person shown. We are glad to welcome guests and residents of the stanitsa for the exhibition running till March 25, 2018.
