“On the Merry Pancake Week…”
19.02.2018Young Cossacks of Sholokhov gymnasium took part in the class “Merry Pancake Week” held by the employees of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.
The classes were devoted to the traditions of Pancake Week, a folk holiday symbolizing the end of winter and meeting of the long-awaited spring. The children learned how farewell of winter was marked in the Upper Don region, about folk customs and rites, and took part in games and round dances.
The class was ended with a party of tea and pancakes, a symbol of the Pancake Week.
