NewsMemory Day of M.P.Sholokhova22.01.2018January 20, is the Memory Day of M.P.Sholokhova, the writer’s spouse. The relatives of the writer’s family, museum workers, residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya came to honour her memory and lay flowers. Mikhail Alexandrovich and Mariya Petrovna got married in 1929, and went through long 60 years together. They raised and brought up four children, helped to raise grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mariya Petrovna was a genuine keeper of the family hearth, foundations and traditions. When she was told about her merits in the life of her husband and writer, she noted: “Well, what is the merit of mine… We simply understood each other…” Mariya Petrovna died in 1992. She was buried next to her husband on the territory of the estate called Garden of Memory. |
