NewsSholokhov Museum at the Tourist Exhibition in Austria16.01.2018The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the international exhibition of tourism, travel and rest “Ferien-Messe Wien” held in Vienna, Austria, during January 11–14, 2018. The exhibition, which displayed 800 exhibits from 80 countries of the world, was visited by 153 thousand people. The year 2018 is announced a “cross” Year of Music and Cultural Routes of Russia and Austria, and its official opening ceremony was held at the stand of Russia with participation of D.E.Lyublinsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Austria, A.Y.Manilova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the RF, M.E.Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the RF President for International Cultural Cooperation, and Mr Laitle, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Austria. On the eve of the Football World Cup, the national Russian stand united the regions participating in the championship as a host. The tourism potential of the Rostov Region was presented by E.E.Mamichev, Deputy Minister for the Rostov Region Economic Development. He spoke about the transport and tourist infrastructure in the region, about the objects of tourist display including the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, about new tour routes, programs for fans and opportunities for rest and travel around the Don region. Annually the Rostov Region is visited by over a million of tourists. It is included in the top 20 tourist attracting regions of Russia, Golden League of the National Rating of the Event Tourism Development and is included in the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia" aimed at promotion of the national cuisine. The workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took an active part in the presentation of the “Gastronomic Map” for the Austrian public and presented tourist routes around Sholokhov country, which aroused a great interest in the visitors of the Russian stand.
