Museum for All!

05.12.2017

On December 2, 2017, a museum class “Let’s Touch the Old Times” was held in the People’s House within the framework of the All-Russian action “Museum for All! Inclusion Day”. It showed the importance of providing equal opportunities for all including disabled people, a category of museum visitors who need special attention. It is the museum that can play a significant role in the development of an inclusive society.

In a warm and friendly talk touching our old times the guests learned about the purpose of the Cossack household objects such as a chugunok (an iron pot), a rogach (a handle for taking hot pots out of the Russian oven), wooden spoons, a rubel (a tool used for ironing linen). The children were surprised learning that wooden spoons can also be a fine musical instrument. And what a fun was to play the balalaika, rubel, trigon, tambourine and, of course, wooden spoons! They made a real amateur concert group!

The importance of such classes was noted by Lyudmila E., Kirill’s mother: “I thank the Museum of M.A.Sholokhov for this wonderful event. We’ve got a good opportunity to learn new things and simply to talk in such a pleasant atmosphere. We would like to have more classes of such kind”.

After the class, the guests visited the picture exhibition of the artist Alexander Shchebunyayev “Cossacks in the Artist’s World”, which produced bright impressions.
