Youth “Sholokhov Readings-2017”

The VI Open City Educational Youth Scientific and Practical conference “Sholokhov Readings” was held on November 12, 2017, in Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

For seven years the conference has been gathering school and university students of Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Region, who study in the literary heritage of the great Russian writer Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov. This conference was submitted about 100 applications for participation in three nominations: “Problematics, Poetics and Figurative System of the Works by M.A.Sholokhov”, “Literary Salon «How Our Word will be Responded…»” and “Sholokhov Themes in Drawings”.

In the nomination “Problematics, Poetics and Figurative System of the Works by M.A.Sholokhov” the winner was Y.Kirsanov (11 form, Sholokhov gymnasium, Vyoshenskaya) with his talk “Synaesthesia as a Means of Creating Artistic Imagery in «The Tales from the Don»”. In the nomination “Literary Salon «How Our Word will be Responded…»” the first place was won by the theatrical studio of school No 4 of Bataisk with the theatrical performance “Women’s Riot” based on the novel “Virgin Soil Upturned” by M.A.Sholokhov, and Y.Ignatenko (10 form, lyceum No 27, Rostov-on-Don) for the artistic reading of the passage from the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”.

The winners were awarded the diplomas of the first, second and third degree and presents from the organizers. Many other participants received certificates of honour and presents.
