The unique Russian-German project is aimed at cooperation development, experience exchange in the sphere of modern technologies application and establishing professional contacts between Russian and foreign specialists in the field of restoration of historical and cultural monuments. The exhibition is organized by the Union of Restorers of Russia and Leipzig Fair (LeipzigerMesseInternationalGmbH) under the support of the UNESCO, ICOMOS, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow. The Russian Ministry of Culture is going to make a separate presentation of the working results gained by the best restorers of Russia within the last two years. As well, there will be published a catalogue describing the restoration work implemented by nearly a thousand Russian specialists of the Ministry subordinated organizations. In the combined exposition of the RF Ministry of Culture, the Museum-Reserve will display the results of the work for preservation of the objects of cultural heritage and of the items of the Museum collection. Documents and photographs will tell about the restoration of two objects of cultural heritage – “The House of Martyn Brothers, XIX Century” in Rostov-on-Don, and “Cinema “Ideal” in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, the Bokovsky District of the Rostov Region. The large-scale works carried out in 2010–2016, are really unique, as during the restoration works, modern technologies were applied, and new construction materials were specially developed to provide conservation and strengthening of the foundations and walls. These allowed preserving and revealing the features of the architectural styles originally inherent in the objects. As well, the exhibition will show the Museum items restored in the workshops of the Museum-Reserve by the artists-restorers of wood and paper: a book by M.A.Sholokhov “The Chairman of the Republic Revolutionary Military Soviet” and Other Stories” and a wicker chair of the early XX century. Taking part in the exhibition “Denkmal, Russia–Moscow” will enable the workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov of getting to know the best practices of cultural heritage preservation and application of the modern museum technologies.
