At the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin, where there is an old mill depicted by M.A.Sholokhov in his novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”, a ceremony of giving grain to the organizers of the massive movement will take place. The event will be joined by A.M.Sholokhov, Deputy of the RF State Duma, O.A.Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, Y.A.Pyatikov, Head of the Bokovsky District, M.M.Aleinikov, Ataman of the Upper Don District of the Cossack society “Great Don Army”. The idea of the project was proposed by Andrey Pavlovich Proshakov, a farmer of the Ilovlinsky District of the Volgograd Region. He planned to collect handfuls of grain from different countries, grind the grain into flour and bake the Bread of Peace as a symbol of unity of peoples by peasant labour notwithstanding political differences, on the National Unity Day on November 4, in the square of Volgograd city-hero. The action has been already joined by the residents of a number of regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Romania and Italy. The Museum of M.A.Sholokhov supports such projects promoting development of friendly and good neighbourly relations between peoples, what the great Russian writer and public figure M.A.Sholokhov called for with his work and his life.
