The exhibition will show about 60 works of the Russian watercolour portraits of the XIX century, the heyday of this genre. Among them there are works by the metropolitan celebrities – P.F.Sokolov, V.I.Gay, A.P.Rokshtul, M.I.Terebenev; the Moscow painters – A.I.Strelkovsky, S.I.Sudarikov; the foreigners working for the Russian court – brilliant French portraitist Zh.B.Izabe and his apprentice Zh.A.Benner. The exhibition is complemented by a number of original items contemporary of those depicted in the portraits as accessories.

The exhibition is one of the rare opportunities to see the unique works “alive” and appreciate all the charm of the masterpieces attracting with the refinement of their colour and really virtuosic technique of watercolour painting.

Welcome to the exhibition in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” during September 22 –November 11, 2017.
