Opening Exhibition in the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov

19.07.2017

On July 14, 2017, an opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Contemplating the Nature…” took place in the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov.

The exhibition displays the photographs from the collection of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. They were made in different periods of the writer’s life. They tell about the love of the writer for the nature, about the favourite leisure of the Sholokhovs family – hunting and fishing, about the favourite places of rest of Mikhail Alexandrovich, about the well-known guests of his, who visited the Don country in different years, about the writer’s friends and acquaintances among the local hunters and fishermen.

The visitors of the exhibition learned that M.A.Sholokhov was deeply concerned about the environment condition of our country, he spoke about the environment protection at the CPSU congresses, plenums of the USSR Supreme Soviet and in the press. His contemplation of nature enriched and inspired him as a writer. The theme of nature went through all his works. The Don writer V.A.Zakrutkin, who knew the writer very well, said that Mikhail Alexandrovich “loved very much the hours he spent alone among nature…” In his outings among nature he happened to meet with the heroes of his future works. The museum workers told about the history of writing “The Fate of a Man”.

The visitors saw the fragments of the documentary “Personalities in Hunting. Mikhail Sholokhov” made in 2015, by the TV channel “Hunter and Fisherman”.
