“Some Day You will also Come Here…”

14.07.2017

These lines were written by Yuliya Pechenezhskaya, a student of gymnasium “Evrika-Razvitiye”, in 1997, when she came to Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya for the first time. It was at that time when cooperation of Rostov schoolchildren and the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov began. Annually new generations of gymnasium students discover for themselves the homeland of the great writer. The latest visiting summer educational practice “Vyoshki” took place early in July of 2017.

The program was informative and interesting: exhibitions, interactive museum classes, tours. In the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” the children visited the exhibition “Manor World of Moscow Neighbourhood” shown by the Moscow State United Museum-Reserve “Kolomenskoye-Izmailovo-Lyublino” and took part in the interactive class “Manor Hospitality Traditions of the Moscow Neighbourhood Nobility”.

The students visited Kruzhilin Village, the house, where the writer was born, in Stanitsa Karghinskaya they saw a mill complex built late in the last century, saw the film “When Cossacks Cry” in the cinema “Ideal”, where in 1920, the Karghin young people staged amateur performances based on the plays written by young Sholokhov.

In museum class “Attention: a Film is being Shot!” the children created a film crew and became cameramen, actors, decorators and costumiers. The photos and video materials made by the students supplemented their practice materials.

The ecological marathon, games of little Don Cossacks, meetings with the peers living in Sholokhov country made a vivid impression in the teenagers.

The summer educational practice “Vyoshki-2017” was summed up at the conference, where the children presented their creative works and the film they had made during the practice. The lines of the poetry by Yuliya Pechenezhskaya written 20 years ago were also sounded at the conference: they were recited by the author’s daughter.

Leaving Sholokhov country the gymnasium students discussed their creative plans for the next year.
