05.07.2017

On July 1, 2017, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov joined the festival of Russian literary museums at the 50th All-Russian Nekrasov Poetry Holiday in Karabikha “The Soul is Lit by Poetry”.

The first Nekrasov Poetry Holiday was officially held in the State N.A.Nekrasov Literary Memorial Museum-Reserve “Karabikha” in 1967, on the initiation of A.F.Tarasov, the founder and the first director of the museum. Since then there has been a tradition of inviting the well-known poets and writers. Annually on this day the poet’s manor is visited by over 5 thousand people.

The program of the holiday was rich: thematic areas, concert and interactive programs, competitions and exhibitions. Besides, there were different areas of regional departments of the Russian organizations of writers, young poets and literary museums.

The festival of literary museums during the holiday is held for the third time. This year, the festival was joined by six literary museums of Russia: the All-Russian A.S.Pushkin Museum, the State A.N.Ostrovsky Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve “Shchelykovo”, the Museum-Reserve of D.I.Mendeleyev and A.A.Blok, the Belgorod State Literary Museum, the Museum-Reserve of F.I.Tyutchev “Ovstug”, and the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

The Sholokhov Museum workers made a presentation and answered all questions of interest. The colleagues and guests of the holiday got interested in various tours to Vyoshenskaya, master-classes and the event calendar.

The poetry holiday in the Museum-Reserve of N.A.Nekrasov “Karabikha” is the major event of the cultural life of the Yaroslavl Region. It attracts attention of the residents of the region and tourists from the whole Russia and near foreign countries.
