NewsManor Hospitality Traditions of Moscow Neighbourhood20.06.2017The museum interactive classes “Manor Hospitality Traditions of Moscow Neighbourhood” are held for children in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. The classes are attended by the children having a rest in summer recreational areas of the Sholokhov District. The children visited the exhibition “Manor World of Moscow Neighbourhood” presented by the Moscow State United Museum-Reserve “Kolomenskoye-Izmailovo-Lyublino” and got into the atmosphere of the Moscow nobility manor. The children learned, that the manors were built generally for festive amusements and reception of numerous guests, and the manor hospitality was necessary for maintaining the social class solidarity and kinship. The most significant was the ceremony of feast and tea taking, which had its traditions and rules of secular behavior and etiquette. In the practical part of the class the children learned about the ballroom ceremony, “the language of the fan” and “the language of flowers”. Then, using crepe paper they made a magnolia flower, a symbol of nobility and an obligatory attribute of the ceremonial dress, and made a fan, a ballroom accessory. The museum classes will be held until September 10. Pre-registration by phone: +7(86353)-23-7-99.
