The Film Adaptations of Sholokhov’s Works are in the List of “100 Films for Schoolchildren”

On the portal “Культура.РФ” there is a section “100 Films for Schoolchildren” which includes the film adaptations of the works by M.A.Sholokhov.

The project initiated by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia under the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation is aimed at showing the best examples of the Russian cinematograph for schoolchildren.

The list includes the films: “The Quiet Don” (1957–1958, Moscow M.Gorky Film Studio, film-director S.Gerasimov), “The Fate of a Man” (1959, “Mosfilm” Film Studio, film-director S.Bondarchuk), “They Fought for Their Country” (1957, “Mosfilm” Film Studio, film-director S.Bondarchuk).

As well, in the section “Lectures” of the portal “Культура.РФ”, there is “100 Lectures for Schoolchildren” about the history of Russian cinema. There are lectures about the films “The Quiet Don”, “The Fate of a Man”, “They Fought for Their Country”.

The leading Russian film historians, film critics, art historians and the well-known actors and film-directors tell about the historical era, the film directors and actors performing in the pictures presented.

In all, there are 19 films made on the works by Mikhail Sholokhov. You can learn about them on our website in the section SHOLOKHOV on the page SCREEN VERSIONS.
