Sholokhov Museum is the Winner of the Project «All-Russian Environmental Subbotnik “Green Spring-2017”»

31.05.2017

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov is the winner of the project «All-Russian Environmental Subbotnik “Green Spring-2017”» organized on the initiative of the Non-Governmental V.Vernadsky Environmental Foundation under the support of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Russian Geographical Society and a number of public environmental organizations.

This year, from April 22, to May 22, a Federal action – All-Russian Environmental Subbotnik “Green Spring” took place in more than 80 regions of the Russian Federation. Over 1000 records about the subbotniks were received in the organizing committee from different parts of the country. From the start of the project the “Green Spring” events united over 5.5 mln people including mostly children and teenagers.

Within the frames of the All-Russian Environmental Subbotnik “Green Spring-2017” the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve held an action “Sholokhov Lilacs on the Map of Eurasia”. The subbotnik was participated by young ecologists from the Rostov, Voronezh, Kaluga and Lipetsk regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the republics of Mari El and Kabardino-Balkaria. The children planted 120 seedlings of “Mikhail Sholokhov“ lilacs grown in the mini nursery of the Museum-Reserve onto the personal spots of the 24 subjects of the Russian Federation and near foreign countries in the forest park “Pearl of Eurasia”. The Museum-Reserve workers held a competition “Ecoorienteering” thus creating for the Don residents and guests a special kind of sports orienteering – ecological, which has no analogue in our country. During the opening ceremony of the exhibition “I Can’t Live without Nature…” dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia and to the work of M.A.Sholokhov the Museum workers held an interactive class “Silvery Lily-of-the Valley” and a number of other interesting activities.

This is the tenth big victory of the Museum-Reserve in ecology over the past 10 years (a special laureate diploma of the I degree of the National Award “EcoWorld”, a certificate of the winner in the contest “National Environmental Award”, a diploma of the winner of the international project “Environmental Culture.Peace and Harmony” and others).

On the 5 of June, 2017, in Moscow, in the Administration of the RF President, there will be held a special event dedicated to the Ecologist’s Day and World Environmental Day which program includes a ceremony of awarding the winners in the All-Russian Environmental Subbotnik “Green Spring-2017”.
