The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov on “Sholokhov Spring” Days

29.05.2017

On the days of the All-Russian literary folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring” the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov was visited by more than 1600 people from Russian regions and foreign countries: Moscow, Voronezh, Ryazan, Volgograd, Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov was visited by the official delegation including I.A.Guskov, the First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. He laid flowers to the tomb of M.A.Sholokhov.

The celebrations of the writer’s birthday are often joined by the people who knew M.A.Sholokhov personally. This year the holiday was visited by Pyotr Vasilyevich Chobin, who served in the 1970s in the Department of the Committee of State Security of Vyoshenskaya. He visited the Memorial House at the Estate and presented to the Museum his book “Vyoshensky Syndrome” about meetings with the writer.

Among the visitors of the Memorial House there were librarians from Stanitsa Kletskaya. The guests shared their memories about filming “They Fought for Their Country” which took place nearby the stanitsa. Lyudmila Seredintseva, a librarian, told about her friendship with Alexey Nikolayevich Kelin, the son of a Cossack emigrant N.A.Kelin, and about the opening ceremony of the memorial plaque on the house, where N.A.Kelin lived, which will take place in August of 2017, in Zheliv (the south-east of the Czech Republic). The Museum workers gave L.Seredintseva a bouquet of immortelle flowers which she would lay to the tomb of Doctor Kelin in Prague.

The Guest Book has been updated with new entries. Here are some of them: “The State Academic Ryazan Russian Folk Choir named after E.Popov thanks the workers of the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov for their warm, cordial and very interesting reception! We all, forty-five actors, bend a low bow to you!!! 26 May, 2017”; “With much gratitude and best wishes. The Volgograd Regional Council of Veterans. 27 May, 2017”; “Thank you for a very informative and exciting tour about the House-Museum of M.A.Sholokhov. We wish prosperity to the Museum and its workers. With best wishes, Naida. Mikhailovka. 27 May, 2017”.

We thank all the visitors of the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov on these days for the interest to the work and public activity of the writer.
