Sholokhov Museum – to Children

On June 1, 2017, the International Children’s Day, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov welcomes boys and girls to the interactive area “Entertaining Hamlet” which will work from 10.00 to 14.00 in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, 62, Sholokhov Street.

The children will enjoy an interesting and entertaining program: workshops, games, riding on swings and exhibitions.

Attending master classes the children will learn to make sand-art pictures, work on a potter’s wheel, make souvenirs of clay, fabric, paper and natural materials.

Young Cossacks will be trained in mounting a horseback. The children will learn about the importance of the horse in Cossack life, the features of the horse care and other things. The experienced horsemen will show elements of fancy riding and the main battle art that Cossacks used in the fight.

The exhibition of drawings “The World of Sholokhov through the Eyes of Children” will show the best works of the young artists – participants in the contest “Our Sholokhov”.

The exhibition “Photography in the Upper Don Country in the XX Century” will tell about the features of the photo art of the past. You will see the appearance of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Novocherkassk and Rostov before the First World War and will learn about the well-known Don photographers.

On this day, the Museum exhibitions are free for children under 16.
