Round Table about Sholokhov in Kazakhstan

More than once a symbolic coincidence of the two dates was noted: May 24, Day of the Slavonic Writing and Culture coincides with the birthday of M.A.Sholokhov.

Namely on this day, a round table “Slavonic Writing and Culture: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” will take place in Uralsk of the West-Kazakhstan Region, in the House of Friendship of the Kazakhstan Peoples Assembly. One of the co-lecturers will be O.A.Chekanova, Director of the Memorial Museum of M.A.Sholokhov in Daryinskoye Village. She will speak about the significance of the work of M.A.Sholokhov and his influence on Kazakhstan literature. M.E.Pavlyuk, leader of the school club “Sholokhov Studies” will share her experience of working with children. There will be discussions, literary digressions and opinion exchange.

In the afternoon the Memorial Museum of M.A.Sholokhov in Daryinskoye will hold “Sholokhov’s Days in Priuralye”.
