“Children’s Sholokhov Spring” in Stanitsa Karghinskaya
15.05.2017On May 26–27, for the 32nd time the Don country makes an All-Russian literary folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring”. Traditionally it will be opened by “Children’s Sholokhov Spring” which will start on May 26, at 15.00 in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, where the writer spent his childhood and young years.
The games, competitions and workshops for children will be devoted to the beauty of the native land, the wildlife of our country, the problems of the Don flora and fauna conservation, love for all living things and the environment. After all, this holiday is dedicated not only to the 112th anniversary of M.A.Sholokhov, but also to the Year of Ecology in Russia. The photo exhibition “M.A.Sholokhov and Wildlife” will show popular and rare pictures of the writer hunting and fishing from the collection of the Museum-Reserve.
Rare birds living in our area can be seen in the “Pets’ Corner”. This travelling zoo from Rostov will show the animal world of the Rostov Region to the visitors.
Other activity areas will also bring various surprises for the holiday guests. The students of the Rostov M.B.Grekov School of Fine Arts will give master-classes on pastel drawing. A landscape made by yourself – isn’t it a memorable souvenir? In the areas of children’s creative activity the young guests will learn to draw in “ebru” technique, make a flower of fabric, pain a horse made of salty dough or a wonderful flower on the transparent film.
Just from here, from the holiday, you will be able to send a postcard to your relatives. In the activity area “We are Reading Sholokhov” the winners and laureates of the interdistrict contest “Our Sholokhov” will read passages about nature from the works of the great writer.
The concert program of the holiday will include over 30 groups from different parts of Russia. A set-out of children’s handicraft work will be exhibited in the square. The children will enjoy different attractions, riding on pony, taking part in environmental marathon and touring about the exhibitions of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.
