Little Cossacks from Distant Yamal Visited the Homeland of Sholokhov

On May holidays the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov welcomed the students of the Cossack Cadet Class from Tazovsky Village of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Territory.
An interesting program was prepared for the students of Cossack 6 “k” form. It included tours about the Museum structures, attending the exciting workshops and interesting classes. In the parochial school in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, where Misha Sholokhov studied, there was held a calligraphy class, where they trained to write with a metal pen and ink. At the Children Museum Centre in Vyoshenskaya they learned about different kinds of residential buildings in the Upper Don region, about making a summer stove. In the workshops of arts and crafts they trained in mastering the basics of pottery and artistic painting. At the Museum Stables they tried themselves in the role of brave horsemen.
The young Siberian Cossacks also travelled to Stanitsa Starocherkasskaya and to Novocherkassk, where they visited the ancestral homestead of the Yefremovs atamans, the Military Cathedral of Resurrection and the Museum of the Don Cossack History.
The children left taking with them bright impressions and the souvenirs made by them.
