NewsPerformance “Notes of a Hunter” in Sholokhov-Centre27.04.2017A premiere of the performance “Notes of a Hunter” based on the title book of short stories by I.S.Turgenev, the great classic, took place on April 26, in Sholokhov-Centre of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. It was devoted to the life and work of the great writer and was shown within the exhibition run “Poetry is not Only in Verses…” Together with the hero the viewers went hunting to the Russian province and observed a peasant and landowner everyday life, the fates and characters of the heroes they met on their way. The main hero, a story-teller, is not only a competent participant in the events, but also a kind of a guide making a way to connect the personages and the audience. Sometimes he simply listens or eavesdrops the talks of the heroes, like in the short-stories “The Office”, “A Date”. Sometimes he asks suggestive questions to “keep up the conversation” (“Kasyan from Beautiful Mecha”,”The County Doctor”); sometimes he takes part in this or that story (“Tatyana Borisovna and Her Nephew”, “Yermolay and the Miller’s Wife”). The story-teller travels around Russia, but his geography is not extensive – only the Orlov Region. While travelling he meets with different types of people, and putting separate episodes together he makes a picture of a Russian everyday life. Irina Pashkova |
