Museum Classes for Rostov Students

19.04.2017

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov gave visiting classes at school No 96 “Evrika-Razvitiye” and gymnasium No 118 of Rostov-on-Don.

“What the Old Stanitsa Remembers” – was the topic of one of the classes about the history of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. At the lesson “Parentage of M.A.Sholokhov” the children learned about the writer’s forefathers and made his family tree.

The lesson “I Can’t Live without Nature” was dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia. The children learned that these words were said by M.A.Sholokhov, who was an enthusiastic fisher and hunter. He loved, valued the nature and did a lot for preservation of the environment.

The senior students listened to the lectures “A Word about the Books That Pierced the Ages”, “The Prototypes of the Heroes of the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov.

During the master-classes the children learned about the traditions and customs of celebrating Easter in the Upper Don region, painted Easter eggs in the technique of decoupage, painted clay tablets, made flowers of elastic suede and dolls-amulets of bast.

The Rostov students said the classes were interesting and fruitful. The children learned a lot of new things and enjoyed the creative handicraft work. For their memory they got souvenirs made by themselves.
