Exhibition “The Don.Sholokhov.Russia” is Opened in Grozny

An opening ceremony of the exhibition from the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took place in the National Museum of the Chechen Republic on April 6, 2017.

Among the guests of the ceremony there was R.V.Milkiyev, the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Chechen Republic; A.S.Elembayev, Deputy Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information; O.Y.Nesterov, Director of the Department for National Policy. The exhibition was visited by the public organizations “Young Guards” and “Chechen Patriots”, teachers and students of the historical faculty of the Chechen State University, the members of the Chechen Cossack Cultural Centre of the Shelkovskoy District of the Republic.

The guests thanked the exhibitors and expressed their hope for the further cooperation, underlined the importance of the intermuseum projects spreading the culture of the peoples of Russia, national traditions contributing to international cultural cooperation.

The exhibition shows 286 items including personal belongings of M.A.Sholokhov, his suit he was wearing at the Nobel Prize awarding ceremony, his type-writer, manuscript of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”, books by M.A.Sholokhov, which were published in different years, and illustrations to his works. Besides, the exhibition shows clothes and household ware of Cossacks, paintings telling about the places, where M.A.Sholokhov lived and worked.

The exhibition will have a run in the National Museum of the Chechen Republic until May 14, 2017.
