The earliest of the autographs to enter the collection is that dated 1932. It is associated with the history of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”: “I entrust comrade Lukin with the author’s proofreading of galley-proofs and sheets. M.Sholokhov. 31/XII-32”. This case refers to publication of the novel in the publishing house “Khudozhestvennaya Literatura”. Yury Borisovich Lukin, a literary critic, screenwriter, the author of articles and books about M.A.Sholokhov, was one of the first editors of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. The note dated 02.01.73 was also addressed to Y.B.Lukin: “Dear Syrbor! – as Sholokhov jokingly addressed to Lukin (means “wet forest”). The note contains valuable information about the history of filming the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”.
