The exhibition will present the publication of the story in different years including those published in foreign languages from the collection of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, and the exhibits of the war time from the Kashari Museum telling about heroism of the Soviet soldiers defending our Country from the German fascist invaders. The story was published in two issues of the newspaper “Pravda” – on December 31, 1956, and January 1, 1957. And shortly after that a lot of letters started coming from all parts of the Soviet Union to the newspaper, to the Union of Writers and to Sholokhov in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.
