The Exhibition of Sholokhov Museum will Run in Austria

03.03.2017

On March 16, 2017, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve opens the exhibition “On the Quiet, on the Free, on the Glorious Don…” in the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Vienna. The exhibition project devoted to the work of the great Russian writer M.A.Sholokhov will be held in the frames of the Russia –Austria Cross Year of Tourism.

The exhibition enables the foreign visitor to learn more about the cradle of the writer’s work, his world significance; it promotes a deeper understanding of Sholokhov’s works and their main hero – the Don Cossacks, the original way of life in the Upper Don region late in the XIX–early in the XX centuries, and Cossack traditions and culture.

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Vienna is the Representative Office of the Federal Agency “Rossotrudnichestvo” at the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is located in one of the most beautiful buildings in the centre of the Austrian capital.

For decades the Centre has been a popular place of meetings and communication of all who are interested in Russia, the Russian language and culture, and of the Russian compatriots living in Austria.

The exhibition will run in Vienna until April 4, 2017.
