Sholokhov Country Welcomes Guests

Annually a lot of important interesting and informative events joined by the residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya are held in the homeland of Mikhail Sholokhov. You can learn what events will be held in 2017 from our website.

The survey results show there are many people who have never visited “Sholokhov Spring”, an All-Russian literary folklore holiday dedicated to the birthday of Mikhail Sholokhov. The question “What do you consider the main thing at the holiday” was answered by 682 respondents. The answers are as follows:

-To expand my knowledge about the Cossack culture – 128 (19%)

-To learn more about the life and work of M.A.Sholokhov – 87 (13%)

-To visit the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov – 63 (9%)

-To make a rest for my family and myself – 54 (8%)

-To see a firework –52 (8%)

-To see a performance of the folk groups – 33 (5%)

-To see a gala concert at the Don embankment – 26 (4%)

-To take part in the folk festivities – 26 (4%)

-To take holiday pictures and video – 9 (1%)

-To get an opportunity to buy souvenirs – 14 (2%)

But the most part of the voters chose the answer: “I have never been to “Sholokhov Spring” – 190 people (28%).

It means that there are many people who can come to Vyoshenskaya for the first time, take part in the world-known holiday, discover for themselves the world of Sholokhov’s personages and to learn more about the history and traditions of the Don Cossacks.

This year “Sholokhov Spring” will be held from 26 to 28 of May. The holiday is the winner of Grand-Prix of the National Award in event tourism. Annually it is joined by 35–100 thousand people from different parts of Russia and abroad.
