NewsMuseum Classes in Sholokhov Gymnasium17.02.2017A class themed “The Great Patriotic War in the Life and Work of M.A.Sholokhov” given by the workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov was held in Sholokhov Gymnasium on February 15. The epigraph of the class dedicated to the Memory Day of the writer was the words from Sholokhov’s letter dated 1943: “The war came with its entire burden into the destiny of each of us”. The theme of the Great Patriotic War excited Mikhail Alexandrovich until the end of his life. The students learned about the history of creation the story “The Fate of a Man” published 60 years ago in the newspaper “Pravda” and about its film versions – a short film “Pages of the Story” made in 1957, at the “Mosfilm” studio by the film directors B.Kryzhanovsky and M.Tereshchenko, and a self-titled film made at the same film studio by S.Bondarchuk. The children watched the fragments of the film “The Fate of a Man” which left no one indifferent. They shared their impressions and remembered the pages of the writer’s biography, his taking part in the Great Patriotic War as a war correspondent, and his books about the war. On February 21, the Memory Day of the writer, the children will visit the Memorial House at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov, where in the small study he created the story “The Fate of a Man”.
