NewsA Class for Schoolchildren in Sholokhov Museum03.02.2017On January 30, a class dedicated to the 60th anniversary of publication the story “The Fate of a Man” was held for schoolchildren. The story was published in two issues of the newspaper “Pravda”, on December 31, 1956, and on January 1, 1957. Also it was performed on the All-Union radio. Within a few days the story was known all over Russia and far abroad. It found a response in the hearts of the readers and radio listeners. It reminded of harsh years of the war for many of the people. In their letters to M.A.Sholokhov the readers shared their memories about the war and about the horror of the German captivity confinement. In class, the Museum teachers told the children about the history of the work, the readers’ impression of the story and about its film adaptation. The children visited the writer’s study, looked into the readers’ letters about their impressions of “The Fate of a Man”, which were sent to the writer and are kept now in the collection of the Museum-Reserve. “The school curriculum does not provide for such a close covering of Sholokhov’s work; the children didn’t even know about the great number of the letters-responses sent to M.A.Sholokhov by the readers”, – said L.I.Zimovnova, a teacher of the Russian language and literature, commenting on the class and thanked Sholokhov Museum for the opportunity of deeper learning the work of the great writer.
