NewsThe Church and Public Forum Discussed the Lessons of the Century31.01.2017The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the XXV International Educational Readings “1917–2017: Lessons of the Century”, which took place on January 26–27, 2017, in Moscow. The major church and public forum rallied over 10 thousand participants including clergymen, authority representatives, educators, scientists, figures of culture and activists of public associations and youth organizations. At the opening ceremony, the greetings of A.D.Beglov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Central Federal District, Chairman of the RF Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs, and S.S.Sobyanin, Moscow Mayor, were read out. The forum was presented the talks by O.V.Vasnetsov, Director of the Department on Relations with the Federation Subjects, the Parliament and Public Associations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and I.K.Mironov, Ataman of the Central Cossack Army. M.A.Dzyuba, Ataman of “The All-Cossack Union of the Czech Lands and Slovakia”, gave his talk about Cossack organizations in Czechia, preservation of the orthodox traditions by the Cossack descendants, their desire to rally on round the Russian Orthodox Church. V.B.Zotov, Moscow Mayor Advisor, noted the importance of the information work and called Cossacks for active promotion of the positive experience of modern Cossacks. The plenary meeting conducted by Metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Kirill, Chairman of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with Cossacks, was followed by six thematic scientific and practical conferences. The conference “Development of the Continuous Cossack Education System: Spiritual and Moral Dimension” was joined by Nataliya Trofimenko, a leading specialist in the international activity of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. In her talk “Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. Preservation and Spreading Cossack Traditions” she presented a set of educational programs enhancing knowledge of school students about the Don Cossacks. Discussing the talk the representatives of the cadet corps highly appreciated the work of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov in organizing cultural, educational and recreational leisure of the students and proposed cooperation in this dimension.
