23.01.2017

On January 27, 2017, the Excursion and Exhibition Centre “People’s house” will open a major exhibition “Sholokhov’s Personages in Cinema”, which will tell about the films made after the writer’s works.

The thematic exhibition falls into four sections: three of them tell about filming Sholokhov’s works “The Quiet Don”, “Virgin Soil Upturned”, “Tales from the Don”, “The Fate of a Man” and “They Fought for Their Country”; the fourth section makes a cinema in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya at the time of the film premiere “When Cossacks Cry” in 1963.

Beginning with the hall of the People’s House the guests will get into the atmosphere of cinema: the interactive display will show fragments of the documentaries about shooting the films based on the works of M.A.Sholokhov. All the halls will show the episodes from the feature films, moments of filmmaking process, colourful posters, screenplays and others. The installations with demonstration of the filming equipment, filmmaking attributes, screens of different formats to show films, give an opportunity to the visitors to feel their involvement in cinematography.

In all, there are 19 films made after the works by M.A.Sholokhov. Each of them has left its mark in the history of cinema and in the hearts of the viewers. Many of them have entered into the “golden fund” of Russian cinema, they are known, seen and loved.

Welcome to the exhibition “Sholokhov’s Personages in Cinema”, which will run from January 27, till March 8, in the People’s House of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov in: 66, Podtyolkov Str., Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. Working time: from 9.00 to 16.00 (Monday is Day Off).
