Christmas Holiday in People’s House

A children’s holiday devoted to Christmas was held in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” on January 9. It was joined by the pupils of the church parish and Sunday schools of the Vyoshenskaya Archangel Michael temple, children with disabilities from the Sholokhov District villages and stanitsas, students of the Sholokhov Centre for Parentless Children Care.

The Christmas holiday was organized by the Vyoshenskaya Archangel Michael temple and the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

The holiday was opened by Vladimir Polyakov, archpriest, rector of the parish of Archangel Michael temple. He greeted the children, their parents, teachers, parishioners and all the guests on the bright and kind holiday.

The guests saw a theatrical performance of the fairy tale “Teremok” arranged in the Orthodox way. As usual, good triumphed over evil, Guardian Angel and kind Prayer liberated the Soul from evil Passions. The pupils of the church parish and Sunday schools performed a Christmas tropar and other Christmas carols with love and sincerity.

Then Father Frost and Snow Girl came and lit fairy lights in the Christmas tree. The children performed circle dances, played games, recited poems, danced and had a great fun. At the end, Father Frost gave them sweet presents.

The holiday gave warmth to the people’s souls and reminded of the necessity to give love and good to each other.
