Media Expedition “The Routes of “The Quiet Don”

17.10.2016

The students of the South Federal University, the Don State Technical University and the Moscow Pedagogical State University took part in the media expedition “The Routes of “The Quiet Don”, which was held on 10–13 October.

During the expedition organized by Denis Anatolyevich Dubover, Deputy Dean of the faculty of media communications and multimedia technologies of the Don State Technical University, the students visited the stanitsas of Vyoshenskaya, Yelanskaya and Karghinskaya, Kruzhilin Village, Novocherkassk to complete the route in Stanitsa Starocherkasskaya.

The expedition was aimed at showing the current look of Cossack stanitsas, at finding out what the residents remember about the traditions of their forefathers, how they follow them and how they appreciate the work of M.A.Sholokhov.

The media expedition began the final stage of the project “Youth Media”. Its mobile app and website were presented last October at the contest of the best IT projects of the Don region.

The philology students from the South Federal University, who study the folklore, dialects and the work of M.A.Sholokhov, had a unique opportunity to meet with the people living in the homeland of M.A.Sholokhov, to learn what they think about the Cossacks and how they keep the memory of their great countryman.

The media students from the Don State Technical University and Moscow State Pedagogical University could demonstrate their competence in the creation of multimedia content.

Now the group is getting ready for the project presentation to be held next week.
