Sholokhov Museum Shows Exhibition in Prague

On 12–20 October, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov presents its exhibition “The Cossacks in the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov” in the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Prague (the Czech Republic).

The exhibition shows Cossacks in many aspects – in everyday life, in family, during the historic events of the late XIX and early XX centuries. The visitors will see how Cossack men and women dressed, what equipment was required for Cossack military service, houseware and tools.

Photos, objects of Cossack ammunition and horse harness, battle awards – evidence of the military glory for feats of arms “For Faith, Tsar and Motherland”, will tell about military service of Cossacks.

Family photos, clothes, houseware and tools of the early XX century will tell about the life of the Don Cossacks.

The exhibition will show illustrations to Sholokhov’s works by artists O.Vereisky and Y.Rebrov.

Besides, the exhibition “The Cossacks in the Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A.Sholokhov” will show photos opening a beauty of the Don country which gave the great Russian writer to mankind.
