“Sholokhov Spring” in Kruzhilin Village

On May 28, a holiday concert was performed in Kruzhilin Village at the parental estate of M.A.Sholokhov by folk groups from the Rostov Region. It was joined by writers and poets from Vyoshenskaya, Kazanskaya, Shumilinskaya, Surovikino, Serafimovich, Uryupinsk; they presented their seventh regional literary and artistic almanac “Verkhny Don”.

Bright stage costumes of the performers and friendly smiles coloured the festivity. Favourite songs – joking and playful, wise and slow – were performed by the singers from the Azov, Semikarakorsky districts, Vyoshenskaya, Romanovskaya and Grushevskaya stanitsas, from Taganrog and other parts of the Don country entertained the residents and tourists of Kruzhilin Village. The performers generously shared their singing and dancing talents and inexhaustible creative enthusiasm with the audience. All the concert members noted they felt great when singing in the land which gave the genius to the world.

The audience felt tender emotions viewing the performance of very little dancers and reciters.

On the holiday, the homeland of the great writer was visited by V.Y.Golubev, Governor of the Rostov Region. Here he met with Kh.A.Bokova, Hero of Socialist Labour, who had worked in animal husbandry for many years, and presented her with a memorable clock.
